Recycle plastic – upcycling
What is upcycling? Upcycling, rather than recycling, involves reimagining uses for existing products and materials and turning them into something new. It is true that, in order to upcycle, we start with a material that, if we did not give it a new use, we would end up recycling.
There are lots of fun ideas for reusing everyday items and giving them a new lease of life. Had it ever occurred to you that a plastic bottle could be turned into a cat-shaped plant pot?
Follow these steps:
MATERIAL:
Plastic bottles, preferably 2 liters with 5 legs
White spray paint (bright white)
Waterproof marker (black and pink)
Scissors
White cotton cord or thread
STEPS:
1. Cut off the bottom third of the bottle, making sure that the ears are centered two inches from the base.
2. Spray paint it outdoors and place it on a pedestal to make it easier to work on. Don't forget to use paper to avoid painting other objects.
3. Apply several coats and allow time between each coat.
4. Once you have the color you want, paint the kitten's face however you like.
5. If you want to hang it up, make a hole on each side. You can make the holes with a hole punch that has different diameter punches.
6. You can plant whichever seedling you like best, always placing a layer of gravel at the bottom to facilitate water drainage. This prevents the roots from rotting and the plant from suffocating, as the small stones act as a reserve of air and water. You should water it moderately.
