You're going to join our challenge, and we thank you for doing so. That's why we're going to explain what you need to do to save water in your home. It's very easy!
SAVING WATER IN THE BATHROOM
1. Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth or soaping up.
2. If you are waiting for hot water to come out of the shower, take advantage of this time to fill another container. You can reuse the water you have collected for cleaning and/or watering.
3. Do not use the toilet as a wastebasket; it wastes many liters of water. Flushing
a cistern can use between 6 and 12 liters each time.
4. Take a shower instead of a bath.
5. Fill the sink moderately when shaving. And use a glass when brushing your teeth.
6. Use aerators on your faucets. They allow you to reduce the flow rate, and the water will come out with more pressure.
SAVING WATER IN THE KITCHEN
1. Defrost food in the refrigerator, not under the tap. Being proactive is also a sustainable practice that allows us to save water.
2. Only use the dishwasher when it is completely full and use a water-saving program.
3. If you wash by hand, lather everything first and then turn on the tap to rinse.
4. Wash fruits and vegetables in a bowl rather than under running water. You can do the same when defrosting food, and you can also reuse this water to water your plants.
SAVING WATER IN THE GARDEN
1. Water your lawn and plants in the morning or evening, avoiding the hours when water evaporation is highest.
2. Check for leaks in taps, hoses, water pumps, etc. When we are in the garden, it is easy to overlook any faults.
3. Use a broom instead of a hose to clean outdoor areas and sweep up leaves.
4. Water small areas by hand and larger areas with sprinklers. Program the sprinklers and use them efficiently by following the manufacturer's recommendations.
